As its name describes it, Aajaka Kura is Today's Talk in Kathmandu and so it has been for the last 4 years. Aajaka Kura is a very popular daily discussion and current affairs show. Host Kiran Pokhrel taks on major social, economic and political issues affecting Nepali society. The programme targets policy makers as well as other stakeholders in any given issue. It aims at encouraging debate and discussion, thus the show often takes the form of a round table discussion and interviews. Army high ranking officials and Insurgent Maoists have been invited to discuss on the political impasse of Nepal. Other examples of issues taken up by Aaja ka kura include land reform and food security in Nepal among others.
