Mithila is an ancient cultural region of Southern Nepal and North India lying between the lower ranges of the Himalayas and the Ganges River. A mythical and ancient culture and people that continue to thrive to this day. In Mithila Yatra we take our listeners to the Mithila world through the music, culture, traditions, art and literature of the Mithila people. Mithila art and literature are renowned all over South Asia and in Mithila Yatra people have the chance to hear about it. The voices of members of the mithila community are often broadcast in this show.
