Sugam Pokharel, a popular pop artist himself, brings listeners of Sagarmatha the latest in pop Nepali music every day.
     The idea behind this show is to promote the new generation of Nepali singers and musicians as well as to position Radio Sagarmatha as a station for the young. One of the criticisms that Radio Sagarmath has encountered over time is that it has not great appeal with the youth. Naya Pusta is at present among the most popular music programs in Nepal and as such has drawn young people to listen to the station. It broadcasts mainly pop Nepali music, which has become main stream in the last year, and other Purbeli pop, the name given to Eastern pop from the South Asian region.
     The show interspaces music with commentary. An interview with a popular artist is broadcasted on the Saturday show.
